i am an l&d nurse …
i am an l&d nurse in a hospital…we keep our placentas for 7 days before discarding if someone wants to take theirs home. the only reason you would not be able to get it is if you or baby had an infection etc and it needed to go to lab for further testing.

thats cool your husband helped and wasn’t grossed out by it, some guys wouldnt go near it let alone touch it!!! its really interesting though, i’ve never seen a placenta close up

another question…did u do home birth or hospital and if u did hospital did they willingly let u take home the placenta?
