We need it to be someone who is thorough, honest, reputable and not too expensive. The house is in Chattanooga, TN.
Your best bet is to ask the Realtor you are doing business with for a recommendation. If you are not represented by a Realtor. Go to the american society of home inspectors website below and choose one from your area. They make sure their members are well trained and reputable.

Ask your realtor. They should have names of local inspectors. Or ask a friend who has recently used one.

Just found this blog on home inspection. http://homesafe-inspection.blogspot.com … I wouldn’t trust a Realtor too much. They usually find inspectors who help them close deals not the inspector who finds the dangerous problems. I would tell you to ask a contractor but then again a contractor will only suggest those who have given him business by finding problems. I would call a few inspectors and talk to them. Find out what kind of training they have. Don’t just pick a name from the phone book.
