Comments asking sincere questions about cesarean recovery, VBAC, or twin birth welcomed; abusive ones will be deleted. This is meant to be an inspirational video for my friends and family, birth advocates, and anyone preparing for an upcoming birth. Hey I am an expectant mother of 1 month but the thing is I am expecting to have 6 children and I couldn’t find anyone who would deliver them. But tbefore I knew how many i was having I wanted to do a homebirth but they immidiately said NNNOOO!! But the other thing is that I coukd not find anyone in the whole country that could deliver my children, I felt compfortable with, I could trust, or has a good history which are all important key to have a birth so I had to go to the united-states

    Your story is so …
Your story is so inspirational!!! The fact that you made the best decision for your babies with all of those obstacles and trusted in God is awesome! Your story is one more added to the ones that have inspired me to have natural home births. Thank you.

    You did look …
You did look beautifully big though in the later photos of the video!

It really made me smile :)

    Having a provider …
Having a provider you can trust is the key! If I could have found that locally, I would have had a hospital birth, honestly. Now, I’m thankful to have done it the way we did, but it definitely wasn’t my initial plan when we found out we were having twins.

    I’m a expectant …
I’m a expectant mother of twins in NYC and had a very hard time finding a provider who would help me with a vaginal delivery let alone a NATURAL dekivery LET ALONE a home birth! (We’ll be attempting natural delivery in a hospital operating room, which I’m so very disappointed about, but I do trust my provider so I’m going with it.) I admire your courage to have a birth experience that is proven to be as safe - if not safer - than hospital births.

    Fair enough. The …
Fair enough. The emotional toll of the C-birth’s evident in your voice & your actions. I’m glad you found your way, & doubly glad you did it properly (researching & praying). As for those idiots you spoke of … lol … unfortunately the world is brimming with them … ;-) I guess I saw the risk, and that struck a chord with me, but you’re definitely right, it’s your experience & I see that part clearer…and at 2.7MM views, your experience is almost public domain ;-) My best to you & yours.

  13. hpnvideo Says:

    I’ve never thought …
I’ve never thought of myself as a “maverick,” though! Thanks for making me smile. Actually, I doula at hospital births every month and have a wonderful working relationship with the doctors and staff, so no animosity here. I just knew it wasn’t right for me or my babies and for that birth.

  14. hpnvideo Says:

    I tried to keep …
I tried to keep mine not very graphic! :-)
Anyway, I know that what I did may seem out of the comfort zone of MANY women, and frankly it sounded like that to me as well BEFORE I was put into the position of having to make that call for myself, and then after doing a TON of research and prayer, I just KNEW it was the right decision for me. That doesn’t make it the right decision for everyone, though, and I recognize that.

  15. hpnvideo Says:

    I went to great …
I went to great lengths to find a provider with an extremely high rate of success and experience with vaginal twin birth so that I could trust in her guidance, since she’s the expert and I’m not. I don’t lead young mothers anywhere, and anyone who makes a birth decision based on one video on the internet, and who does not do her own research, is an idiot. This video isn’t about the decision another mother should make, it’s about my experience.

  16. NotHolierThanThou Says:

    And finally, I …
And finally, I wouldn’t even have come back here if your comments hadn’t been emailed 2 me. I guess I do have better things to do…touche. I chanced upon your vid in a series of fairly graphic home birth videos that I basically couldn’t believe were posted…I would consider that other content a little personal. In that frame, I saw yours…it sounded risky, and like your maverick disposition unnecessarily risked your & your unborn’s health. End of story…just clearing that up. Nice vid tho.

  17. NotHolierThanThou Says:

    I’m not angry … …
I’m not angry … sheesh, calm down … you said yourself that “none of the local doctors would be fully supportive of a VBAC” … “illegal for midwives” … “no CN could find a supporting o.b. IN MY STATE” (emphasis added). There are reasons why. You went to extraordinary lengths to hire a “provider” who didn’t disagree with you. Denial of this would amount to the words of an insolent child. Pray for your own peace of mind, not my heart. Pray you don’t lead some young mother to peril.

  18. redstonius Says:

    Is it typical in …
Is it typical in your knowledge to have twins born so far apart in time? Wasn’t it like 2 hours between babies? I thought they came much quicker than that but I really wouldn’t know. I am often terrified by all that can go wrong and wish I had the support of family and doctors to have a child at home but that’s just not the case. I am pregnant now and will again go to the hospital. :) Nice video!

  19. stilettoclad Says:

You must be quite a …
You must be quite a spectacular woman to continue to pursue your homebirth goal even after all the opposition from your state and after finding out you were carrying twins. What courage!

  22. AKCAEH Says:

    I homebirthed my …
I homebirthed my second baby two weeks ago, after having had a very traumatic and interventive hospital birth which ended in an unnecessary c-section. Having pre-gestational diabetes (regardless of the fact that my glucose was kept under very tight control), the hospitals in my area were unwilling to give me a VBAC, let alone a “natural” birth. I found an unlicensed midwife in my area who was willing to give me a chance, and I was able to give birth the way I was created to. Soli Deo Gloria

the video is clearly titled…if you don’t agree with it, why are you here?? Its a peaceful and natural thing, not your body, not your kids, not your choice and…its done…why come just to argue with ppl?
