This film is dedicated to the real victims of war, hatred and unforgiving hearts: Children.
This serves as but a part of my prayer for those who have suffered at places such as Columbine, Africa, Virginia Tech, Chechnya and other war-torn, hate filled places. Though we may not be able to cause the wars abroad to cease, we can cause the wars within our hearts and homes to end. Forgive and love others. Truly these small and simple steps can eventually cause great and powerful strides in the world.
“The Prayer of the Children” by Kurt Bestor and Sam Cardon
Can you hear the prayer of the children?
On bended knee, in the shadow of an unknown room
Empty eyes with no more tears to cry
Turning heavenward toward the light
Crying jesus, help me
To see the morning light-of one more day
But if i should die before i wake,
I pray my soul to take
Can you feel the hearts of the children?
Aching for home, for something of their very own
Reaching hands, with nothing to hold on to,
But hope for a better day a better day
Crying jesus, help me
To feel the love again in my own land
But if unknown roads lead away from home,
Give me loving arms, away from harm
Can you hear the voice of the children?
Softly pleading for silence in a shattered world?
Angry guns preach a gospel full of hate,
Blood of the innocent on their hands
Crying jesus, help me
To feel the sun again upon my face,
For when darkness clears i know you’re near,
Bringing peace again
Dali cujete sve djecje molitive?
(croatian translation:
‘can you hear all the children’s prayers?’)
Can you hear the prayer of the children?

My choir is singing …
My choir is singing this song this year, and the story behind the song is this:
A man went on a mission trip to Yugoslavia and took care of children at an orphanage. The man got so attached and loved these children to no end. One day while back home he heard about a bombing that went on in that exact area. He rushed back only find the city in ruins. When he finally found the orphanage, it had been bombed too and all the children were gone. So he went home and wrote this song in their memory.

He actually has a piano that he plays into while he sings into the mike, and the piano replaces the notes on the piano with his voice. So he’s literally singing all five parts at once.
