I said they were supposed to give the minorities the money. HOWEVER they were NOT supposed to give out loans they couldn’t handle. That’s common sense. However. Fannie Mae Freddie mac are government programs set up to buy loans the banks dole out that people can’t take on, to help those people. THE BANKS KNEW THIS. The reason so many people wanted money in the first place was the housing market going down, they wanted to flip the houses for a profit.

I love how buffoons who took loans they knew they could afford are now in the poisition to stay in that nice fancy 700k home I couldnt even afford because the Government is forcing banks to work with these people to make payments they could afford-I would like a million dollar home at 500 a month also-I am seriously thinking about jumping the band wagon and not paying my bills so I can get some relief also-why should I have to pay when some other schmuck will do it for me?

I’m not lying you moron. Banks were supposed to give people loans. HOWEVER. It is the banks job and the person responsibility to know the limits of what the individual can pay back and when. Even if they were FORCED to give out loans, they weren’t forced to give out that much. It was their own greed that was their downfall and the people’s stupidity that was theirs. Because there is a Discriminatory act doesn’t mean they had to give loans at the magnitude they did. And that means their greed of money had nothing to do with it? By the way, all that proves is that they can’t decline to lend to people because of the color of their skin, or gender. They are supposed to MAKE it work, with loans they could handle, not loans over what they should give out. Trying to pin all of this on the common man is horrible, because the average American isn’t that bright, so they bought the song and dance. This doesn’t mean they are not partly at fault, just not totally.

Banks were NOT …
Banks were NOT forced to give out loans. They KNEW that they could sell the loans to Fm so then went ahead and gave them, then turned them around for a profit. After the hit the fan, they were stuck with the loans that they couldn’t pawn off yet. Hence, they went UNDER and needed to be bailed out. That is what started this shit.

Dude. The PURPOSE OF FANNIE MAY AND FREDDY MAC ARE TO BUY THE LOANS FROM BANKS WHO GIVE THEM OUT TO PEOPLE WHO CAN’T PAY FOR THEM. So you can’t blame them. The Blame lies with the Banks who were so greedy they GAVE the loans out.. and the people stupid enough to take them.
As much as I don’t like bob… I DO AGREE with him on what to do… nothing. We should PUNISH the banks who did this.. not reward them with a bailout.
